The Spell-Checker in Microsoft Office products is extremely useful. The actions of the Spell Checker can easily be initiated by the user which for most people is essential. Spelling mistakes are repetitive, which means a word-processor, to borrow an antiquated term, should help fixing those errors. Auto-correct does it for you easily.
Add a text entry to the AutoCorrect list
- Click the File tab.
- Click Options.
- Click Proofing.
If you are using Outlook, click Mail, and then click Spelling and AutoCorrect.
- Click AutoCorrect Options.
- On the AutoCorrect tab, make sure the Replace text as you type check box is selected.
- In the Replace box, type a word or phrase that you often mistype or misspell — for example, type usualy.
- In the With box, type the correct spelling of the word — for example, type usually.
- Click Add.
- Click OK.
Change the contents of a text entry in the AutoCorrect list
- Click the File tab.
- Click Options.
- Click Proofing.
If you are using Outlook, click Mail, and then click Spelling and AutoCorrect.
- Click AutoCorrect Options.
- On the AutoCorrect tab, make sure the Replace text as you type check box is selected.
- Click the entry in the list. It will appear in the Replace box.
- Type the new entry in the With box.
- Click Replace.

- Click Delete.
- Type a new name in the Replace box.
- Click Add.
Understand the AutoCorrect list
You can use the AutoCorrect feature to do the following:
- Automatically detect and correct typos and misspelled words For example, if you type teh plus a space, AutoCorrect replaces what you typed with the. Or if you type This is theh ouse plus a space, AutoCorrect replaces what you typed with This is the house.
- Quickly insert symbols For example, type (c) to insert ©. If the list of built-in AutoCorrect entries doesn’t contain the symbols that you want, you can add entries.
- Quickly insert any long piece of text For example, if you need to repeatedly enter a phrase such as return on investment, you can set up the program to automatically enter this phrase when you type roi.
All of these uses of the AutoCorrect feature are supported by two parallel lists of words. The first word is the word that you type, and the second word or phrase is what the program enters to replace that word.
The AutoCorrect list is global across the Microsoft Office programs that support this feature, which means that when you add or delete a word from the list in one Microsoft Office program, the other Office programs are also affected.

Microsoft has settled on a new name for its personal cloud product and will soon be rebranding SkyDrive as OneDrive. Microsoft was forced to rename SkyDrive after losing a trademark suit in the United Kingdom to the British Sky Broadcasting Group in July 2013.
“One” has become the new mantra for Microsoft these days. CEO Steve Ballmer’s reorganization plan for the company was termed “One Microsoft” and its newest gaming console is called the Xbox One.
Current users of SkyDrive or SkyDrive Pro will not have to change anything as OneDrive (which promises some enhancements to the service coming soon) is made.

Sky Drives features and functionality set are similar to the services offered to business through SharePoint, only less customizable and fewer administrative functions. It does enable one to store information across multiple platforms.

- Secure boot requires firmware that supports UEFI v2.3.1 Errata B and has the Microsoft Windows Certification Authority in the UEFI signature database

- BitLocker To Go requires a USB flash drive (Windows 8.1 Pro only)

- To install a 64-bit OS on a 64-bit PC, your processor needs to support CMPXCHG16b, PrefetchW, and LAHF/SAHF
- InstantGo works only with computers designed for Connected Standby
If your PC is currently running Windows 7 or Windows 8 you can check to see if it meets the requirements by running the Upgrade Assistant. We also recommend that you visit your PC manufacturer’s website for info about updated drivers and hardware compatibility.

There is nothing more exciting than the Friday morning email notification that contains a copy of a receipt for new license acquisition from a long time client. It means their business is growing. I changed the email arrival sound for those emails to the chime of an old-time cash register drawer. Try it, here is how:
“Cha Ching” setup.
Start by creating a new rule in Office Outlook, (Depending on version your buttons/menus may look different.)
Before starting the rule make sure the email is highlighted. Mine comes from TSI Mail Services which is an automated account used from a variety of company notifications. The one that means an order has arrived has a subject Account Update and the customer number. Since I want the sound for all orders and not just the customer now, I remove that part of the subject. Having many windows open I like an alert window to be oped since I may not be here when the sound plays and I know I’ll the New Item Alert window eventually.
By clicking the browse button it is easy to change the sound.
